The former Real Madrid star, Casemiro who recently got signed into Manchester United and being handed the club’s No.18 shirt, has made his debut for the club.
This is coming after Casemiro moved from Real Madrid to Old Trafford in a 60 million pounds ($71 million) deal.
Manchester United’s manager Erik ten Hag had on Friday said the 30-year-old Brazilian could feature for the first time in this weekend’s trip to St Mary’s.
“Casemiro is fit. He did all the training sessions. He trained first individually and the last days he trained with the team,” Ten Hag told reporters.
“Martial came out with a problem on his Achilles, out of the game, so we have to wait.
“I cannot tell a prognosis, how long it takes. I hope he will be available for the next game.”
Today, Manchester United beats Southampton 1-0 in the early kick off on the weekend, August 27.
However, Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, benched Cristiano Ronaldo and Harry Maguire at his starting XI to face Southampton in Saturday’s early kick-off.
The Daily Page News recalls that Ronaldo and Maguire were left out for the 2-1 win over Liverpool on Monday.
