Eden Hazard has rejected down a move to Newcastle United despite Real Madrid approving a £33.4 million bid with £8.3 million in add-ons, according to El Nacional.
Since arriving from Chelsea in 2019 for an original cost of £88 million, the 30-year-old has had a dreadful experience in Spain.
Hazard’s form has been affected by injuries and a lack of consistency.
As a result, the Belgium captain has dropped down the pecking order, with Carlo Ancelotti preferring Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is thought to have accepted a €40 million (£33.4 million) offer from Newcastle United, plus €10 million (£8.3 million) in add-ons.
Hazard, on the other hand, has turned down Newcastle’s overture, claiming that he will only move for a ‘major’ club like Chelsea.
Hazard, who shone at Stamford Bridge during his seven-year stay, scored 110 goals, and provided 92 assists in 352 appearances, has been linked with a return to the Blues for some time.
