The academic staff union of universities, ASUU, has finally suspended its 8-month-old strike, today.
This was made known to the public by a member of the union’s National Executive Committee in this early hour of Friday, Channels TV reports.
The Daily Page recalls that the union embarked on industrial strike on Monday, February 14, 2022 due to FG’s failure to implement the 2009 Memorandum.
Also, recall that the Court of Appeal had ordered ASUU to resume before its appeal the ruling of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria.
The union called the meeting to determine its next line of action after its state branches met over the Court of Appeal ruling last week.
However, few days after the leadership of union met President Buhari, ASUU suspended its strike which lasted for 8 months.
