According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca players are facing a 50% wage cut proposal from the board.
This is owing to the Catalans’ financial condition and the LaLiga’s pay ceiling pressure.
The Barca board is now requesting that the players accept pay cuts.
Players that have just renewed their contracts, such as Pedri and Ansu Fati, as well as their January arrivals, will be exempt.
All other team members, however, will be made to accept 50% wage cuts or resign, along with the club’s leadership group.
Barcelona are aiming to acquire a few more players this summer, but they are now unable to do so due to LaLiga budget restrictions.
