Boomplay reveals 2020’s most streamed songs

Singer Simi, Mercy Chinwo and Tope Alabi are the most streamed artistes for the year 2020, according to figures from Boomplay.

Well, Boomplay which is a media streaming and download service developed by Transsnet Music Limited, has revealed its annual statistics for Nigeria which show cases the most streamed songs, best album, genres.

According to the Boomplay play Statistics, people listened to 44m songs, the app also generated 50 million monthly active users. Also, Boomplay social media presence grew to total of 1.8m social media followers.

As 2020 is coming to an end, Boomplay revealed that Fireboy DML topped the list of top streamed Nigerian male artistes while Simi topped the list of top streamed Nigerian female artistes.

Bad influence (Omah Lay), Duduke (Simi), Nobody Ft. Joeboy & Mr Eazi also topped the most streamed or trending songs in Nigeria based on the number of times each song appeared on the Top 100 Nigerian chart.

In the figures released by Boomplay, Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps (Fireboy DML),  Twice as Tall (Burna Boy), Apollo (Fireboy DML) topped the most streamed Nigerian album.

Davido Reveals He’s Igbo By Blood

Davido says he is Igbo by tribe

David Adeleke, the Afrobeats performer known as Davido, said he is Igbo by blood. The singer shot back at someone who warned him about being friendly with Igbo people, saying he could worry about betrayal as a Yoruba man.

The X user, Yakbel, said: “Davido just dey carry Ibo full body, until when dem betray am before e rest. Yoruba boy dey frolick with Ibos in 2025, they want your head and everything you have to belong to them. You can never satisfy Ibos. Ibos are not people you surround yourself with as a Yoruba man.”

Davido overlooked the criticism and just replied:
“Lol. My ancestors are from the Igbo people.”

I Told Jarvis to Reject ₦3 Billion Netflix Role Over Kissing Scene – Peller Claims

Nigerian online streamer, Habeeb Hamzat popularly known as Peller has revealed he convinced his girlfriend, Jarvis, to turn down a ₦3 billion offer from Netflix since it required her to kiss someone during the show.

Peller mentioned this during a livestream with Peter Okoye from P-Square.

Peller said, “Netflix offered 3 billion Naira my girlfriend, Jarvis to do a kissing scene, but I turned it down.”

Peter asked, “Do you mean N3 million or N3 billion?”

Peller replied, “N3 billion! I know you might not believe me, but I have the record of the video call. I warned them never to contemplate such ever again. I love my baby. I don’t joke with my baby. She is my life.”

Peter added, “Always look out for her.”

Actor Charles Okocha visit Kanayo

Nigerian actor, Charles Okocha has paid a heartwarming visit to legendary actor Kanayo Kanayo ahead of his upcoming wedding.

Charles visited Kanayo to bring his wedding invitation to him in person. In the video shared by Kanayo, Okocha described him as a man who influenced his acting career greatly and, therefore called him his family and role model.
