Manchester United playmaker, Bruno Fernandes has turned down the club’s latest contract offer, according to The Athletic.
As the COVID-19 pandemic hit football, Fernandes joined United from Sporting in January 2020 and quickly established himself as a vital player.
He scored twice against Aston Villa last weekend, bringing his season total to seven goals and 47 goals overall.
With some of his teammates earning more money, the 27-year-old has been asking for a rise on his basic wage of £100,000 per week.
When Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Old Trafford last summer, he became the club’s highest earner, earning four times as much as his colleague.
Since making his United debut, Fernandes has only missed two Premier League games, accumulating 22 assists to go along with his 33 goals.
Before the new year, the athlete and his representatives had turned down a new contract offer.
United will not know whether they have qualified for next season’s Champions League until May, when talks are scheduled to continue.
