Eddie Nketiah may quit Arsenal in the January transfer window after rejecting the club’s latest contract offer, according to Metro.
The striker netted a hat-trick in a 5-1 EFL Cup win over Sunderland at the Emirates on Tuesday, bringing his season total to five goals in the competition.
Nketiah’s last Premier League appearance was in April, and while Mikel Arteta wants to keep him, he won’t guarantee him playing time.
As a result, Nketiah has rejected the club’s attempts to persuade him to sign a new contract, and he will be free to sign a pre-contract with overseas clubs on January 1st.
In January, Arsenal could grudgingly cash in on Nketiah if he makes it obvious that he has no intention of signing a new contract.
Nketiah is attracting a lot of interest from German clubs, with Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke reportedly showing interest.
Nketiah recently said he is unhappy with his playing time.
He noted he is eager to play football.
