Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp will not participate in Sunday’s Premier League match against Chelsea due to a suspected positive Covid-19 test.
Klopp, who is undergoing isolation, was suffering with minor symptoms. Pepijn Lijnders, his assistant, will be in charge of the trip to Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool said on Friday that three more members of staff had tested positive, however Klopp declined to name them until PCR test results were confirmed.
Liverpool has not requested a postponement of the Chelsea match and does not intend to do so at this time.
The Reds boss is now isolated after experiencing slight symptoms prior to the match.
As a result, Pepijn Lijnders, the assistant manager, will take charge of the team for the 4.30pm GMT kick-off at Stamford Bridge.
