Commercial banks in Nigeria has unblocked MTN after disconnecting them from their channels.

This is coming after Bank had disconnected Telecommunication giant, MTN Nigeria for reducing discount from 4.5 percent to 2.5 percent commission.

Afterwards, Nigerians took to their respective social media and complained about the difficulties in buying airtime or data.

Reacting to the development, Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Ali Pantami, on Saturday said that a meeting with the CBN and NCC had been held, and the USSD service will be returned soon.

However, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, MTN Nigeria, Karl Toriola, announced that the telecom company has now reverted the discount to 4.5 Percent Commission with banks.

Giving updates to customers, MTN said, “Y’ello, you can now recharge airtime and buy data via your bank by dialing *904#. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
