After spending more than €1 billion on players, Man United has been branded the club with the largest transfer losses in the last decade.
According to CIES Football Observatory, an impartial research body, this is the case.
Since 2012, Man United has spent €1.545 billion on transfers while earning €470 million in player sales, resulting in a net cost of €1.075 billion.
When Manchester United re-signed Paul Pogba for £89.5 million in 2016, they set a Premier League transfer record, but the World Cup winner is likely to leave as a free agent this summer.
United paid £36 million for Anthony Martial in 2015, and £40 million for Donny van de Beek in 2020. Last month, both players went on loan to Sevilla and Everton, respectively.
Manchester City came in second with a net spend of €984 million, spending more than United ($1.699 billion) but bringing in €715 million in sales.
With a net spend of €941 million, Paris Saint-Germain came in third.
