Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that new coach Chris Armas and sports psychologist Sascha Lense will join his Manchester United setup, and both Donny van de Beek and Dean Henderson are set to start against Young Boys on Wednesday.
Manchester United takes on Young Boys in the Champions League on Wednesday before traveling to Norwich in the Premier League on Saturday evening, live on Sky Sports.
Armas was the head coach of the New York Red Bulls from 2018 to 2020 before moving on to Toronto FC, where he was fired in July of this year.
Rangnick set to rest key players in Champions League
Rangnick, who was Red Bull’s head of sport and development during Armas’ tenure in New York, previously worked with Lense at RB Leipzig, and United’s interim manager is hopeful that work permits will be granted soon.
Rangnick said it would “make sense” to rest players after already qualifying for the knockout stages as group winners, and revealed both goalkeeper Dean Henderson and midfielder Van de Beek would start when asked about their futures after January.
Although Edinson Cavani and Raphael Varane were spotted back in training on Tuesday, Rangnick stated that they will not be able to participate in full sessions until next week.
