Ralf Rangnick, interim manager of Manchester United, has slammed Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic following his team’s Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night.
Rangnick claimed Vincic made it ‘easier’ for Atletico Madrid to squander time in their 1-0 second-leg victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Champions League round of 16.
Atletico Madrid knocked Manchester United from the Champions League with a first-half header from Renan Lodi.
Atletico Madrid advanced to the quarter-finals with a 2-1 aggregate victory.
“He (Vincic) made it quite easy for Atletico to perform their time-wasting antics, and it didn’t make it any easier for us,” Rangnick remarked in his post-match press conference.
“That’s how they have played for the last 10 years, they always play like that. I was not surprised,” Rangnick admitted.
