Sweden Government has reacted to the announcement of suspension of Twitter’s operation by Nigerian government.
The Daily Page reports Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed had announced the “indefinite” suspension of Twitter in a statement on Friday by his spokesman Segun Adeyemi.
Sweden’s embassy in Nigeria, in a series of tweet, told Nigerian government to respect human right of freedom of expression.
“Nigerians have a constitutional right to exercise their freedom of expression and a right to access of information. This must be respected.
“Safeguarding free, independent media and civic spaces for democratic voices is an important part of Sweden’s #DriveForDemocracy #TwitterBan,” Sweden tweeted.
