Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United has stated that he intends to play football until he is 42 years old.
With 14 goals in all competitions this season, the 36-year-old is United’s top scorer.
Ronaldo returned to Old Trafford last summer, signing a two-year contract with a one-year extension option.
He now wants to play at the highest level for up to six more years.
The legend appears to be 30 years old genetically. He claims to take excellent care of his body and mind.
“I’ve lately realized that beyond 33, I feel the body can provide if you need it, but the mental battle is the real war.”
“I’ve been working on my mind and focusing more on it. I believe my body will take care of me because I respect it and pay attention to it,” Ronaldo told ESPN Brasil.
Ronaldo stated that he wants to know if he would be able to play until he is 40, 41, or 42 years old, but the most important thing to him is to enjoy every moment.
