Tanzania: Singer Kizz Daniel did nothing wrong – Journalist Kemi Olunloyo

Nigerian journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has condemned Nigerians criticizing singer Kizz Daniel for failing to perform at his concert in Tanzania.

The Daily Page recalls that, on 8th August, Kizz Daniel was arrested for failure to show up for a paid concert.

According to a concert promoter in Tanzania, Stephen Uwa, the Buga crooner refused to show up for a concert in Tanzania because he (Kizz Daniel) was not with his gold chain.

However, he later regained freedom from Tanzanian police custody that same day.

As expected, a lot of Nigerians including disappointed fans in Tanzania faulted the singer for failing to perform despite being paid.

Reacting to the criticism, Kemi Olunloyo stated that Kizz Daniel did not wrong.

“WELLNESS AND EVERYONE: Vado @kizzdaniel #BabaIbeji???? did nothing wrong. I once declared him as one of the BEST artists in ?? in 2016.

“If I have a presentation in a foreign country and my luggage did not arrive, I won’t do it. Ask BBC when my interview was canceled and rescheduled for a similar reason.

“The promoter who went on Daddy Freeze is a hungry desperate MF. $300K ko? If you promoted a Wizkid or OBO concert for $700K and they refused to perform because something in the missing luggage was necessary for the show, you POSTPONE or CANCEL THE SHOW AND START ISSUING REFUNDS. You won’t have Wiz or OBO arrested.

“Just another East African music industry shenanigan that eventually blows the West African artist internationally, just ask @omah_lay and @temsbaby AND SHAME on the media who reported the content of his luggage. Gold chain or not, the public did not have to know what he needed to perform.

“An artist’s luggage first before the show. Personal items like medications etc could be in there,” Kemi Olunloyo wrote on her Facebook page.
