Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems has won the Best International Act category at the just concluded 2022 BET Awards.
She beat Firebox DML, Dave from the UK, Dinos (France), Fally Pupa (DR Congo), Little Simz (UK), and Major League DJZ (South Africa) to win the first major award of her career in the early hours of Monday, June 27, 2022 (WAT).
While accepting her awards, Tems dedicated the award to all single women out there.

Tems who was born on June 11, 1995, to a British dad and Nigerian mom in Lagos, wrote her first song when she was six years old.
She spent the first few years of her life in England before moving back to Nigeria with her mom after her parents divorced when she was about five years old.
