He stated that the Portugal captain made a mistake by rejoining Manchester United last year and that he should have instead joined Manchester City.

Recall that Ronaldo returned to Manchester United from Juventus last summer.

His return to Manchester United came as a surprise, as it appeared the five-time Ballon d’Or winner was on his way to Manchester City, only for the Premier League champions to drop their interest, allowing the Red Devils to win the race for his services.

“I think he [Ronaldo] should be leaving the club,” Victor Ikpeba said on SuperSport’s Monday Night Football. Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United was a blunder.

“It’s not just about him scoring goals; so many things happen when a star player returns to his former club.”

“Ronaldo has been a distraction in many ways.” He’s a global football star; he shouldn’t have returned at that age; he should have gone to Manchester City.

“Jealousy plays a role in the dressing room for egocentric players.” The atmosphere has been sour from the start.”
