Wilfred Ndidi, a Nigerian midfielder, will not play for Leicester City against Manchester United in a Premier League match on Saturday.
Brendan Rodgers, the manager of Leicester City, revealed that Ndidi would miss the rest of the season due to injury.
Ndidi was forced off in the second half of Leicester City’s Europa League clash against Rennes earlier this month due to injury and has since undergone surgery.
He also missed Nigeria’s double-leg World Cup playoff against Ghana’s Black Stars in 2022.
“Wilfred will be out for the season, which is a tragedy for us, but he will get ready for next season,” Rodgers said of his side ahead of their Premier League match against Man United.
“It’s unfortunate. He’s been a brilliant player for me in my time here. He picked up a nasty injury that has had to have surgery on and he will recover now until June.”
