Pele, the legendary Brazilian footballer, has again been admitted to a hospital in Sao Paulo to continue his treatment for a colon tumor.
He is, however, stable and should be discharged in the next few days, according to a statement released by Albert Einstein Hospital on Wednesday.
In an Instagram post, Pele’s daughter Kely Nascimento stated that she expects her father to be home in time for Christmas.
In September, the three-time World Cup winner had surgery to remove a colon tumor and spent over a month in the hospital.
The hospital said at the time that he would need chemotherapy, and Pele is now “continuing” his treatment, according to a statement from the hospital sent out on Wednesday.
Last month, the 81-year-old superstar stated on Twitter that he was “fine” and that he was feeling better “every day.”
The Football Legend who had won three World Cups, in 1958, 1962, and 1970, is still Brazil’s all-time greatest scorer with 77 goals in 92 games.
Pele is still regarded as the best footballer of all time by some football fans.
