Jermaine Pennant, a former Arsenal winger, has stated that Pierre-Emerick Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will not return to the club as Pennant believes the Gabonese will join Newcastle, who are now the frontrunners to capture him in the January transfer window.
After being accused of disciplinary issues, Aubameyang was stripped of his captaincy and removed from the first team in December.
Arsenal has won five games in a row while scoring 20 goals, with the exception of Saturday’s loss to Manchester City.
Since then, Aubameyang has departed north London to join Gabon for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Aubameyang may not be able to return to the Emirates Stadium, according to Pennant.
While Tony Cascarino, a former Chelsea player, has warned Newcastle against signing Aubameyang, claiming that the Gabonese international will not provide the force the club requires to avoid relegation, Pennant believes that Aubameyang is a professional footballer who will showcase his talent regardless of where he plays.
