Burhan Tia, Sudan’s head coach, believes Nigeria and Cameroon would reach the final of the African Cup of Nations 2021.
While other major star countries failed, both countries finished strong in the group stages.
The Indomitable Lions won Group A with seven points, while the Super Eagles won Group D with a perfect score, nine points.
Tia’s second match was against Nigeria, which they were defeated 3-1.
A match where the Super Eagles conceded their only goal of the group stage which came from a penalty kick.
Augustine Eguavoen’s men, he feels, have what it takes to be champions once more.
The coach revealed Egypt and Nigeria are both teams that are quite talented, and they also both performed admirably in the group.
“They’re two teams that have a chance to go far in the competition,” Tia said.
Sudan’s AFCON campaign came to an end with a 1-0 loss against Egypt.
This is the first time Nigeria would win all their group matches since 2006, under the interim coach.
