Kanu Nwankwo, a former Arsenal midfielder, has advised Nigeria’s Super Eagles to learn from their mistakes and move on following their elimination from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Nigeria was eliminated from the 2021 AFCON after losing 1-0 to Tunisia in Cameroon on Sunday night.
Tunisia defeated the Super Eagles in the AFCON round of 16 and qualified for the quarter-finals thanks to Youssef Msakni’s second-half goal.
Kanu, who had wished the Super Eagles well before their play against Tunisia, responded by saying he was proud of the Nigerian team.
In addition, the former Ajax player urged the Super Eagles to qualify for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
Kanu posted on Twitter on Monday morning. “My country people. Yeah. The Super Eagles have been eliminated from the 21st African Cup of Nations. Regardless, we learn from our mistakes and move forward. Let’s get ready to compete in the World Cup.”
