Portable apologizes to Headies over threats to harm fellow nominees

Nigerian singer, Portable has tendered public apology to Headies over his threats to harm fellow nominees.

The Daily Page recalls that the wahala musician had taken to his IG page where he made death threats to other artistes featured in the categories he was nominated in.

“Those are my awards, anybody else who wins I will ask for them to be killed. I will ask them to kill the person. If the organisers give my award to someone else, they will die,” Portable said in Yoruba. “No go give my award to another person, he go die o”

However, Headies condemned his behaviour to other nominees and asked him to retract his statement and make a written apology to his colleagues.

Today, Portable has now deleted the video and tendered his public apology to Headies and nominees.

According to him, he meant not to harm anyone. Given the update, he wrote, “On behalf on behalf of myself my management and the entire Zeh nation I sincerely apologize for my unguarded urtrances as I do not mean any harm to the nominees in any way The video has been deleted on my page and I appreciate all your support so far God bless my Fans God bless the headies.”

David Adeleke, the Afrobeats performer known as Davido, said he is Igbo by blood. The singer shot back at someone who warned him about being friendly with Igbo people, saying he could worry about betrayal as a Yoruba man.

The X user, Yakbel, said: “Davido just dey carry Ibo full body, until when dem betray am before e rest. Yoruba boy dey frolick with Ibos in 2025, they want your head and everything you have to belong to them. You can never satisfy Ibos. Ibos are not people you surround yourself with as a Yoruba man.”

Davido overlooked the criticism and just replied:
“Lol. My ancestors are from the Igbo people.”

Nigerian online streamer, Habeeb Hamzat popularly known as Peller has revealed he convinced his girlfriend, Jarvis, to turn down a ₦3 billion offer from Netflix since it required her to kiss someone during the show.

Peller mentioned this during a livestream with Peter Okoye from P-Square.

Peller said, “Netflix offered 3 billion Naira my girlfriend, Jarvis to do a kissing scene, but I turned it down.”

Peter asked, “Do you mean N3 million or N3 billion?”

Peller replied, “N3 billion! I know you might not believe me, but I have the record of the video call. I warned them never to contemplate such ever again. I love my baby. I don’t joke with my baby. She is my life.”

Peter added, “Always look out for her.”

Nigerian actor, Charles Okocha has paid a heartwarming visit to legendary actor Kanayo Kanayo ahead of his upcoming wedding.

Charles visited Kanayo to bring his wedding invitation to him in person. In the video shared by Kanayo, Okocha described him as a man who influenced his acting career greatly and, therefore called him his family and role model.
