Following the spike in number or confirmed cases in Nigeria, Federal government has released another restrictions. As the second wave of coronavirus pandemic hits Nigeria, the Presidential Taskforce (PTF) on COVID-19 on Monday at a news conference issued a stay at home order to all government workers on Grade level 12 and below for the next five weeks. The federal government has extended the deadline registration for Nigerians to link their phone to their National Identication Number (NIN). According to Nigerian government, those that already have their NIN, their new deadline for registration is now January 19, 2021. While those without NIN, the deadline for their NIN registration has been extended to February 9, 2021. Recall that the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), in a press release, directed all Telecom operators to block all sims that are not connected to NIN (National Identication Number). The government of Saudi Arabia has shutdown its land borders and international flights for a week over fear of new coronavirus strain. According to Saudi Gazette’s report, the suspension of all international flights, closure of land borders and sea borders will last for one week, adding that if there is emergency cases, it can be extended for another week.
