    BREAKING: FG extends NIN registration

    The federal government has extended the deadline registration for Nigerians to link their phone to their National Identication Number (NIN).

    According to Nigerian government, those that already have their NIN, their new deadline for registration is now January 19, 2021.

    While those without NIN, the deadline for their NIN registration has been extended to February 9, 2021.

    Recall that the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), in a press release, directed all Telecom operators to block all sims that are not connected to NIN (National Identication Number).

    In order to avoid blockage of phone numbers, NCC gave Nigerians grace of 2 weeks to link their phone numbers to their NIN.

    However, some Nigerians criticized the government that the 2 weeks is to small for individuals to update their sim registration.

    The federal government has now bow to pressure as they extend the deadline for NIN registration.
