    Many of Nigerian movie lover all over the world has heard of Ini Edo at least once and the beautiful screen diva has many admirers who have seen every movie she featured in. Apart from being an actress, she is a movie producer and entrepreneur. Read fascinating details about her rise to fame.

    Life History Of Ini Edo:

    Iniobong Edo Ekim who is popularly known as Ini Edo was born on April 23, 1982 in Akwa Ibom, Nigeria. Her father was an elder in the church and her mother was a teacher. Ini was born as the second of four children, into a family where there was strict upbringing.

    Ini Edo graduated from the University of Uyo where she obtained a diploma in theatre arts. She went further to attend the university of Calaber, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English. In 2014, National Open University of Nigeria awarded her a scholarship to study Law.

    Career As An Actress:

    In the year 2000, Ini Edo started her acting career. She was discovered by a movie producer in an audition and in 2003, she made a debut appearance into the African movie scene with the movie tittled Thick Madam. In 2004, She was brought into the limelight after she feautured in the movie tittled World Apart.

    World Apart starred Ini Edo as a village girl named Ulima. It feautured Kenneth Okonkwo as Prince Promise, Hilda Dokubo as Rhoda, Liz Benson as Queen Mirabel, Laz Ekwema as King Idoto and so on. The movie was directed by Tchidi Chikere.

    As a movie producer, Ini Edo has produced movies like Heaven On My Mind, Knocking On Heaven’s Door, Echoes Of Love, Memories Of My Heart and many more. She has also acted in the following movies:

    Ini Edo Politics Career:

    Since 2016, Ini Edo holds the office of the special assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom state, Gov. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel on Culture, Entertainment and Tourism.

    Ini Edo Philanthropy:

    Ini Edo visit orphanages with gifts for the orphaned. Ini Edo has visited Heart Of God Children Hospice, Surulere, Lagos. She went there to spend quality time with the children including the ones with disabilities and special needs. Due to her philanthropic activities the United Nations appointed her as the UN Habitat Youth Envoy in 2011.

    Ini Edo Marriage:

    Ini Edo got married to an American based Nigerian businessman, Philip Ehiagwina in 2008 but the duo divorced in 2014.
