Christian Eriksen is in negotiations with Brentford about a six-month contract, according to ESPN.

After his contract with Inter Milan expired in December, the 29-year-old is now a free agent.

Eriksen is unable to play in Italy due to a heart device implant.

In June of last year, the midfielder suffered a heart collapse during Denmark’s Euro 2020 opener against Finland and required life-saving treatment on the field before being transported to hospital.

He was then implanted with a cardioverter defibrillator (ICD).

Eriksen feels he can continue to play at the greatest level even if he is unable to play in Serie A.

Although Tottenham manager Antonio Conte stated that the player would be welcomed back, negotiations with Brentford are thought to be in the early stages.

Thomas Frank, the Brentford manager, trained Eriksen when he was with Denmark’s under-17 squad.

Eriksen’s representatives are reportedly in talks with other clubs in England and other countries regarding a prospective move.
