D’Tigress, Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision to pull Nigeria out of all international basketball games.
The departure will last two years, according to the Minister of Youth and Sports Development.
According to Dare, the development will let the administration to focus on efforts to revitalize the sport.
However, although disagreeing with the ban, D’Tigress requested for a reversal in a message on its official Twitter page.
The players, D’Tigress stated that they would like to be given the opportunity to represent Nigeria because the ban prevents them from competing in future competitions, achieving their goals, and elevating, inspiring, and making Nigeria proud!
We would like to be given the opportunity to play for our country that we passionately love to represent in this upcoming competition.
”We have worked very hard to be 3x Afrobasket Champions, Olympians and now we are blessed with another opportunity to continue that representation for Nigeria.
