Henry Onyekuru will join the Super Eagles camp in Abuja, which is already open due to injuries to some of the team’s players, according to Gazzetta.
Augustine Eguavoen, the Super Eagles interim coach, revealed his 28-man roster, with the 24-year-old one of the conspicuous absences from the list of ten attackers invited.
According to Gazzetta, Onyekuru will join the Super Eagles camp in Abuja, which is already open due to injuries to some of the team’s players
“While he was initially excluded, a vacancy was created due to injuries to other “players,” which was thought proper to be filled by Olympiacos’ ace,” Gazzetta concluded.
The NFF and the Super Eagles have yet to confirm Onyekuru’s invitation and who he will replace as of the time of reporting this post.
Onyekuru’s alleged invitation comes after another rumor claiming that Osimhen had withdrawn from the 2021 AFCON.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Sunday Akpeyi (Kaizer Chiefs), attacker Sadiq Umar (UD Almeria), and Chidera Ejuke (CSKA Moscow) joined the Super Eagles camp Tuesday, bringing the total number of players in the camp to five.
Olisa Ndah (Orlando Pirates), John Noble (Enyimba FC), and Taiwo Awoniyi (Union Berlin) were among the players who arrived at the camp on Wednesday.
