US President Donald Trump has on Friday, announced he will skip Joe Biden’s inauguration in a final days of office, amid call for impeachment for the last 12 days in office.
Earlier this Friday morning, January 8th, 2021, President Donald Trump promised a peaceful transition of power.
But now, in another tweet, he revealed that he is not going to attend Biden’s inauguration.
Trump tweeted, “To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th.”
For Trump not to attend his successor’s swearing-in ceremony, means that he broke the traditional step of personally demonstrating the peaceful hand-off of power in the US. He’ll be the first outgoing president to skip his replacement’s inauguration in more than 150 years.
