The Senate Committee of the University of Ibadan (UI) has on Monday, November 30, appointed Prof. Adebola Ekanola as the Acting Vice Chancellor.
The Daily Page learnt that Ekanola, who is the current Deputy Vice chancellor (Academic),scored 275 votes to defeat four other rivals to secure the job.
While the Deputy Vice chancellor (Research, Innovation and Partnerships), Prof. Olanike Adeyemo, polled 13 votes, Prof. Adigun Agbaje polled 15 votes, Prof. Ayo Oluleye polled 80 votes and Prof. Gbemisola Oke polled 14 votes.
Prof Adebola Ekanola who was born on December 2nd, 1969, had his primary education at the polytechnic Ibadan primary school between 1973 and 1980.
He went to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife to study philosophy between 1987-1991 Where he graduated with first class honours, BSc philosophy.
After his Youth service, he obtained his M.A in philosophy from University of Ibadan in 1996 and subsequently, PhD in 2003.
He is now happily married to Mrs Yetunde Aderemi Ekanola and blessed with 4 wonderful children.
