The United States Electoral College has on Monday confirmed Joe Biden as the winner of US presidential election, making him the new us president elect, while Kamala Harris the vice president elect.
Biden who had total of 306 electoral votes defeated Trump who has 233 votes in the just concluded US presidential election.
Following Biden’s victory, Biden will take over the white house on January 20, 2021 as he will be inaugurated into office.
Despite the confirmation of Joe Biden as the US president elect, Donald Trump is yet to concede.
Trump, in a series of tweets, announced that Williams Barr will be stepping down as Attorney General in order spend time with his family for Christmas.
Trump tweeted, “Just had a very nice meeting with Attorney General Bill Barr at the White House. Our relationship has been a very good one, he has done an outstanding job! As per letter, Bill will be leaving just before Christmas to spend the holidays with his family…”
Trump added that Deputy Attorney General Jeff Rosen, will become Acting Attorney General while Richard Donoghue will be taking over the duties of Deputy Attorney General.
