Manchester United has asked players who want to leave the club, including Paul Pogba, to hold off on making choices until a new manager is appointed, according to ESPN.
Manchester United is hoping that Pogba’s choice of manager will persuade him to stay.
The Frenchman’s contract is up at the conclusion of the season, and he has the option to leave as a free agent.
Football director John Murtough has also ordered Anthony Martial and Donny van de Beek, who both went on loan in the January transfer window, to wait until a new manager is hired before selecting where they want to play next season.
A five-man shortlist for the Old Trafford post includes Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag.
Ralf Rangnick, the interim boss, isn’t ruling out the prospect of staying on for another year.
Pogba has been courted by Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain, but he has yet to make a decision.
