Chelsea midfielder Saul Niguez has announced his departure from the club this summer.
On Tuesday evening, the Spaniard revealed this in a series of tweets via his Twitter handle.
Niguez joined Chelsea on loan from Atlético Madrid last season.
The 27-year-old midfielder thanked his Blues teammates for their help throughout the season.
Niguez will now rejoin his parent club, Real Madrid.
He tweeted: “Hello blues,
“I’m writing to take my leave of you. I would like to tell you how I felt during this adventure. Things didn’t start well at all. After a long time at home, changing everything wasn’t easy. (…)
“Thank you for making this club much bigger. Thanks to all the fans for supporting me through thick and thin. I will be forever grateful.”
