Rihanna, the Barbadian singer, actress, and the founder of the fenty brand, Rihanna’s fenty corporation is currently being sued by a musician for using the version of a song that is offensive to Muslims at her 2020 Savage X Fenty fall show.
The artist referred to as Jane doe in documents seen by TMZ to protect her identity, reported that she received death threats, she also claimed that there are to versions of her song “Doom”, the offensive version which included sacred Islamic proverbs and the one without religious chants.
According to the statement given by Rihanna, she claims that it was the wrong version that was used instead and apologized publicly for the mistake
“I’lld like to thank the Muslim community for pointing out a huge oversight that was unintentionally offensive in our Savage X Fenty show”
She said ” I would more importantly like to apologise to you for this honest, yet careless mistake. We understand that we have hurt many of our Muslim brothers and sisters, and I am incredibly disheartened by this!
” I do not play with any form of disrespect towards God or any religion and therefore the use of the song in the project was completely irresponsible!”
In conclusion she stated “Moving forward we will make sure nothing like tho ever happens again”. Chloe also apologized online and mentioned that she did not know she was sampling the song with the sacred text”.
After the incident the song was removed from the Savage X Fenty show recordings.
