Following Manchester United’s 1-1 draw at Burnley on Tuesday evening, former England striker Alan Shearer described Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay as “embarrassing.”
At Turf Moor, Paul Pogba put United up early, but Wout Weghorst outmaneuvered both Maguire and McTominay to set up Jay Rodriguez’s equalizer.
Shearer has also blasted Maguire and McTominay for failing to halt Weghorst before Burnley’s score.
“From Manchester United’s point of view, I mean Maguire and McTominay? The lack of effort and the lack of a tackle from Maguire and McTominay was embarrassing in that midfield.
Shearer told Premier League Productions, “It was far too easy, and that’s how Burnley scored.”
With 39 points, United are now in fifth place in the rankings with Arsenal and Tottenham with games in hand in the race for the top four.
Man Utd recently exited FA Cup in a penalty shootout against Middlesbrough.
