Alphonso Davies will be out for the foreseeable future due to a cardiac inflammation discovered within his body has rocked Bayern Munich’s season.
Julian Nagelsmann revealed on Friday that he has stopped exercising as a result of a mild irritation.
Davies was conducting standard medical checkups after recuperating from COVID-19 earlier in January when the problem was discovered, according to The Athletic.
An inflammation of the heart, known in the medical community as myocarditis, can be dangerous if not treated and monitored properly, especially in athletes.
As a result, Davies will miss weeks of training as physicians and the Bayern Munich medical team keep an eye on him.
The management stated that he has stopped training for the time being and will not be available in the coming weeks.
“We discovered evidence of mild myocarditis during our follow-up examinations with athletes who had COVID-19.”
“It must heal, and that will undoubtedly take time.”
