Emmanuel Petit, an Arsenal icon, has predicted that his former club will finish ahead of London rivals Chelsea in the Premier League this season.

Arsenal’s form has improved recently, with the Gunners winning five games in a row to rise to fourth place in the rankings last month.

With a game in hand, Arsenal is eight points behind London rivals Chelsea.

The Blues have lost ten points to Manchester City after drawing four of their past five league games.

“Will Arsenal be able to finish in the top four? “Two months ago, if you had asked me this question, I would have claimed it was a miracle,” Petit told bookmakers.com via Metro.

But, considering all Arsenal has done in recent months, they now have a chance, according to Petit.

Everyone is altering their thoughts, he claims, and confidence is returning.

“With Chelsea’s current situation, you can imagine them shedding even more crucial points, leading you to believe that third place may be a target for Arsenal as well.”

He believes Arsenal has a chance to go up to third place.
