The match between Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona next week Wednesday will take place behind closed doors.

    FC Bayern Munich

Due to an increase in coronavirus cases in Bavaria, the blaugranes will play the critical Champions League match without any fans in the stadium.

Due to a significant surge in coronavirus infections in the German state of Bavaria in recent weeks, the game corresponding to Match Day Six in the Champions League and subsequent matches will be played without people in the stadium.

Xavi Hernández’s team will compete for a spot in the competition’s final 16. The blaugranes will advance to the knockout stages of the competition if they win in Munich, regardless of what happens in the group’s other match between Benfica and Dynamo Kyiv in Lisbon.

The previous time Barça visited the Allianz Arena in Munich was in 2015, when the blaugranes fell 3-2 in the competition’s semi-final but still advanced to the final in Berlin.

The most recent match between the two teams ended in 3-0 win to Bayern Munich in what was the first leg between the Group E teams.

Bayern Munich will look to extend their winning run in the group and advance to the knockout stage of the competition in sterling fashion.

A loss takes Barca to Europa League if Benfica beats Dynamo Kyiv next week Wednesday.
