Kylian Mbappe added to his already illustrious career by becoming the youngest player in Champions League history to reach 30 goals, breaking the previous record held by PSG teammate Lionel Messi.

The France striker scored in just 70 seconds against Club Brugge at Parc des Princes.

In doing so, he became the first player in Champions League history to score 30 goals at the age of 22 years and 352 days, while Messi did so at the age of 23 years and 131 days in 2010.

Mbappe’s goal was PSG’s quickest in the Champions League since Edinson Cavani scored against Arsenal in September 2016.

It didn’t take long for Mbappe to score again, volleying home Angel Di Maria’s pass to double PSG’s lead after only six minutes and 23 seconds.

That was the second-fastest brace by a player from the start of a Champions League match, trailing only Rodrygo, who scored twice for Real Madrid against Galatasary in November 2019.
