Jurgen Klopp, manager of Liverpool, has announced that Diogo Jota suffered an ankle injury in their 2-0 win over Inter Milan.
During the first leg of their Champions League round-of-16 match, Jota was substituted by Roberto Firmino.
Firmino and Mohamed Salah scored for the Reds, giving them a comfortable advantage heading into the second leg at Anfield.
Klopp, on the other hand, will be concerned about Jota’s fitness ahead of the Carabao Cup final next weekend against the world champion, Chelsea.
“I’m really happy with everything apart from obviously Diogo had to go off with something around the ankle ligament.
“We will see. We don’t know exactly. He could play on, which is maybe a good sign. Half-time the ankle was swollen already, so we had to change,” Klopp told BT Sport.
Jota is the second-highest goalscorer in the Premier League following his teammate, Salah.
