Luis Enrique, the coach of the Spanish national team, believes Real Madrid will win the Champions League in 2021-22.
According to Marca, the former Barcelona coach also discussed Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio, who has battled for form under Carlo Ancelotti this season.
He also stated that Barcelona striker Ansu Fati will return to the national team after suffering a series of devastating injuries beginning in late November 2020.
Enrique is concerned of the 19-year-injury old’s history, so he’ll be introduced slowly and with limited game time.
The focus has now shifted to Saturday night’s Champions League final in Paris between Real Madrid and Liverpool.
When asked who he wants to win the event, the Spaniard responded diplomatically.
“No answer I give will please everyone, and I enjoy pleasing people.” But, since I prefer to be fair, Real Madrid is the team that deserves to win the Champions League,” he continued.
Liverpool will face Real Madrid in the Champions League final in France on Saturday, a rematch of the 2018 final, which the Spaniards won.
With a convincing win over Villarreal, Jurgen Klopp’s Reds advanced to the final, while Real Madrid defeated Manchester City 5-4 on aggregate to reach the final.
