Victor Osimhen, the Super Eagles striker, has returned to training after suffering a facial injury in a league game in Italy’s Serie A.
In Napoli’s Serie A match against Inter Milan on November 21, Osimhen suffered a left cheekbone and orbital fracture.
After that, the 22-year-old underwent a successful but difficult surgery.
The operating doctor, Gianpaolo Tartaro, described how and what had to be done to fix the Nigerian striker’s major facial injuries after the successful surgery.
The striker’s ‘devastating’ damage required six plaques and 18 screws,’ according to the surgeon.
The surgeon in charge noted that Osimhen’s injury was not just a simple fracture to the cheekbone, as it involved many other bones in his face.
While estimates suggested Osimhen would be out for up to 90 days, ‘The Lion,’ as he is known by some of his supporters, has returned to training in just over two weeks.
Napoli has also confirmed Osimhen’s return to training on their Twitter handle on Wednesday.
