According to ESPN, Benjamin Sesko and Marko Arnautovic have begun contract negotiations with Manchester United after loss to Brighton.
Arnautovic, who has previously played in the Premier League for Stoke and West Ham, has been discussed by United with Bologna.
Erik ten Hag, the manager of United, has pushed the team to sign a seasoned forward who is fine playing off the bench as a backup.
Ten Hag is an admirer of 33-year-old Arnautovic because they were together at FC Twente.
Separate from Sesko’s move is the one for Arnautovic.
Chelsea is also considering signing the 19-year-old, but Salzburg would prefer to hold onto him until next summer.
After Sunday’s 2-1 loss to Brighton, Ten Hag was questioned about the need for new players.
The Dutchman replied: “I don’t go into names and I think in this preseason, 250 players are involved or linked with Man United, so that’s it.
“We have two strikers [Ronaldo and Martial], maybe a third one, [Marcus] Rashford.
“We considered him as a striker, but he had a really good season on the left side and he had two really good chances but the typical nine wasn’t available today.”
