    Moses Simon of the Super Eagles has been named in the Best XI for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) team of the tournament.

    Gabaski, alongside Senegal’s Sadio Mane, highest goalscorer, Vincent Aboubakar, and Nigeria’s Moses Simon, were named in the Best XI following the conclusion of the 2021 AFCON tournament on Sunday.

    Senegal overcame the Pharaos in the shootout after a goalless draw between the finalists which saw Senegal lift their first AFCON trophy ever.

    Simon is deployed as an offensive midfielder in a 4-4-2 system, according to Whoscored’s Best XI for AFCON team of the tournament, with Morocco’s Sofiane Boufal (SCO Angers) and Ivory Coast’s Ibrahim Sangaré (PSV Eindhoven) and Nicolas Pepe (Arsenal) completing the midfield four.

    Gabaski (Egypt/Zamalek) begins in goal, with Achraf Hakimi (Morocco/PSG), Kalidou Koulibaly (Senegal/Napoli), Abdou Diallo (Senegal/PSG), and Saliou Ciss (Senegal/Nancy) completing the back four.

    The two strikers up front are Sadio Mane (Senegal/Liverpool) and Vincent Aboubakar (Cameroon/Al-Nassr).
