    Omicron: Canada imposes travel ban on Nigeria

    The government of Canada has imposed travel ban on Nigeria after the discovery of Omicron variant.

    Canada imposes travel ban on Nigeria

    This was announced on Tuesday, November 30th, by the Canadian Transport Minister, Omar Alghabra.

    According to him, the travel ban was placed on some African countries including Nigeria in order to prevent the spread of the Omicron coronavirus variant.

    Also, other African countries imposed with travel ban include Egypt, Botswana, South Africa, Lesotho, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Eswatini, Malawi, and Mozambique.

    Mr Omar added that all foreign nationals who had visited the above listed African countries in the previous 14 days would be temporarily banned from entering Canada.
