Police arrest four teenagers for allegedly gang raping a 15-year-old girl in Lagos

The Police Command in Lagos Monday said it had arrested four teenagers for allegedly gang raping  a 15-year-old girl in Ejigbo on February 16.

It was learnt that the mother of the victim, Tawa Abbey, of No 200, Mafo Bus Stop, Idimu Road, Ejigbo, reported the incident to the police that her daughter (name withheld) went to buy food at Lafenwa Street,Ejigbo when a group of boys attacked her with dangerous weapon, threatened to kill her and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her in a room at No 33,Alhaji Obe Street Ejigbo.

Upon the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Ejigbo Division, mobilized his men to the scene where the four boys were arrested. The suspects were identified as Jimoh Kamoru, 16, Lukman Basita, 16, Aleshinloye Sunday, 16 and Ifeoluwa Alabi, 16. Some items were recovered from them including cutlasses and substances suspected to be Indian hemp.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, CSP Ademuyiwa Adejobi, said the state Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered the Divisional Police Officer to go after the fleeing members of the group and intensify efforts in getting Ejigbo area rid of bad boys who are fond of attacking and gang-raping innocent ladies and causing pains to them.

He said the Commissioner of Police has directed that the matter be transferred to the Gender Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba for discreet Investigation and prosecution.

Suspected Gunmen have invaded and kidnapped some students of Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi on Monday, April 26th, 2021.

This is coming after Gunmen killed three students of Greenfield University, Kaduna state government confirmed on Friday.

Confirming the abduction of Benue varsity students, the university’s spokesperson Rosemary Waku said in a statement that reads below:

“The University has reported the incident to the police and all relevant security agencies.

“The University has not heard anything from the students or their captors since the unfortunate incidence took place.”

Mother, four children burnt to death in ilorin

Tragedy at Ilorin as fire burnt a mother, named Titilayo Adigun, and her four children to death on Wednesday night, March 17, in Ilorin, Kwara state.

As per media reports, her fifth child survived the inferno at Ifesowapo community, behind “F” Division police station Tanke, Ilorin.

It was gathered that the fire was caused by a candlelight that later resulted into flames, following days of power outage.

At the time of the inferno, it was the father of the house was not around.

As of time of filing this report, the only surviving child is said to be receiving medical attention at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH).
