Lobo Carrasco, an ex-Barcelona defender, has suggested that Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain may return to the Spanish club.
Carrasco believes Messi will leave the Ligue 1 club if they fail to win the Champions League.
Argentina’s captain only left the Camp Nou for PSG as a free agent last summer.
Carrasco, on the other hand, believes Messi will return to the Blaugrana at the end of the season.
He said he is seeing a lot of hints about Messi’s return to Barcelona. And it could happen sooner than you think.
He noted that Messi could seek his release if the results do not follow, particularly in the Champions League.
“The situation is terrible, but he may be able to return,” Carrasco noted.
“Messi is not happy in Paris. Not as much as in Barcelona anyway.”
In France’s top-level, Messi has yet to regain his best form, scoring just one goal in 12 outings.
In the Champions League, he has five goals in five games for PSG.
