Jose Peseiro, a Portuguese tactician, has been named Head Coach of the Super Eagles by the Nigeria Football Federation.
The NFF announced this in a statement issued after its National Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.
Peseiro’s appointment was confirmed in a statement by Ademola Olajire, NFF’s Director of Communications, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.
At a virtual meeting on Wednesday to discuss critical matters in Nigerian football, the NFF Executive Committee endorsed the idea for Peseiro’s appointment, according to the statement.
According to NAN, the Executive Committee accepted a recommendation for the hiring of Jose Peseiro as the new Head Coach of the Super Eagles following the dissolution of the relationship with Gernot Rohr after a thorough review of a document given by the Chairman of the Technical and Development Sub-Committee.
The Executive Committee also directed the Technical and Development Committee to organize a friendly match for the Super Eagles when they come in Garoua for AFCON 2021, according to him.
This will be accomplished in collaboration with the NFF Secretariat.
