After testing positive for Covid-19, Aston Villa head coach Steven Gerrard will miss the next two Premier League games.
Gerrard will miss the home game against Chelsea on Boxing Day and the travel to Leeds on Tuesday.
Gerrard has been affected by Covid-19 for the second time this season.
During his stint as Rangers manager earlier this year, the 41-year-old was forced to isolate, missing matches against Alashkert and Celtic.
Because of an epidemic at the club, Villa had to postpone their match against Burnley last Saturday.
The illness has already forced the cancellation of three Premier League games on Sunday, including Liverpool’s home match against Leeds, Watford’s trip to Wolves, and Burnley’s match against Everton.
Six Premier League games are still scheduled to take place, including the encounter versus Chelsea at Villa Park.
Gerrard was the manager of the Rangers for three years before joining Villa on November 11 to replace Dean Smith, who was fired after a five-game losing streak.
Villa has won four of their six Premier League games since then, with the two losses coming against Manchester City and Liverpool, his previous club.
